The groups involved in the project are shown in the graphic and described in more detail below.
The Public (you)
Public involvement will play an enormous role in this project. The input from you will directly influence project outcomes.
Information about the project will be distributed through a variety of means, including newsletters, public open houses
and workshops, small group stakeholder meetings, online surveys, and this Web site.
Sounding Board
The Sounding Board will provide information to the Technical Advisory Group, as well as examining the comments from the
public.
Technical Advisory Group
Technical Advisory Group will consider information from the Sounding Board and the public, as well as the consultant team.
The Technical Advisory Group will make a recommendation to the Core Stakeholders. This group includes representatives
from the City of Spokane Public Works Department, Economic Development Department, Spokane Transit Authority, Spokane
Regional Transportation Council (SRTC), Public Facilities District, Washington State University (WSU), Avista and
the Downtown Spokane Partnership.
Core Stakeholders
The Core Stakeholders include elected officials and other community representatives. This group will consider the recommendation
from the Technical Advisory Group and either agree or alter that recommendation, before forwarding a final recommendation
to the City Council and Spokane Transit Authority Board.
City Council
Spokane's City Council will serve as the decision-maker, along with the Spokane Transit Authority Board.
Spokane Transit Authority Board
The Spokane Transit Authority (STA) Board will serve as the decision-maker, along with Spokane's City Council.
Consultant Team
The Spokane Transit Authority (STA) selected CH2M HILL as the prime contractor for the project in 2010. CH2M HILL
will manage the development and evaluation of project alternatives. Firms working with CH2M HILL as part of the
project team include HDR Engineering, IBI Group, SOJ, Leon Skiles and Associates Inc., and Desautel Hege Communications.
